It is filled with unneccessary vulgarity. : I am reportng this review after Amazon removed the earlier review I posted on October 31, 2021. I ordered this book hoping for a quality glipse or accounting for those not in law enforcement into the real world of policing in America. For thos who have never worn a badge or walked in the steps of an officer, they have no true comprehension of what an officer encounters throughout their career. From the 0300 calls of “something suspicious” in a dark alley to the trauma of a fatal accident or officer-in-volved shooting, people truly have no idea what transpires in the lives of those willing to don the badge. Yet, rather than find a book that would be a quality addition to my professional library as a retired police officer, I find it rather disturbing due to the level of vulgarity within. I am sure the author inteneded the book to become a “go-to” book for leaders and subordinates alike as they navigated their career, but in my profesional opinion, it missed the mark. I am an avid reader and writer who explores a variety of law enforcement authors… the language and content is the book falls quite short of my expectations. This is the first time I have felt the need to address a topic such as this. The job is challenging enough without showing the public something like this. J. #18 -- This book tells the truth about Police Administration : Nick and Nicole reveal the sad truth about the current state of Police Administrators that care more about saving themselves and throwing the rank and file under the bus. As he wrote about in his first book Nick shines the spot light on what maybe the real reason behind the increase in police suicides. Its not the work we do or did or the things we saw. Its the way we are treated by Command after giving years of our lives and health to a profession we love. We give everything and it can get taken away for no reason with not a care as to what it has done to us. The men and women of American Law Enforcement deserve better.
